Microsoft Teams connectivity

Hello,

I vaguely remember an Intercom connector being available for Microsoft Teams, but this no longer seems to be case. Has this been removed?

The connector allowed us to receive Teams notifications whenever a new conversation was started on Intercom.

The alternative approach would be to use a Webhook, but Intercom’s webhook payload seemingly does not conform to Microsoft’s expectations: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/task-modules-and-cards/cards/cards-reference#connector-card-for-microsoft-365-groups

Is my view of this correct?

Thanks,

Dimeji

Hey @Oladimeji Ogunyoye 👋 Eden from the support engineer team here.

At the moment, there isn’t an Intercom connector for Microsoft Teams-- as far as I know, this isn’t a feature that was previously available with the integration. As you mentioned though, it looks like you should be able to set up incoming webhooks with Microsoft Teams and then use that webhook URL to send Intercom webhook notifications to Microsoft Team channels, if that works for you. You can read more about that here.

If you need to parse and convert the data to a different schema, you may need to subscribe to these webhook topics as well as build a custom integration with Microsoft teams to send that notification, or it might be possible to use a 3rd party connector service to achieve this with minimal code. 👍

I see that it used to exist as well. I am wondering what happened. Here is an article about it: https://www.intercom.com/blog/introducing-the-intercom-integration-for-microsoft-teams/

Hey there @thisisntjon !

You are correct that there was previously a Microsoft Teams integration, but that is no longer supported.
