Custom style in initialize

Feature-Request

#1

Is there any way to add custom HTML tags(e.g H1, Div) and CSS’s (may be inline css) in messenger app initialization?

I went through the document(https://developers.intercom.com/messenger-framework-reference/reference#text) and saw very few options for the design.

Do intercom have any options for styling in messenger app initialization?

Hey @awlad :wave:

It’s not possible to add custom HTML tags or CSS to Messenger Framework components currently. The styling options available are outlined at the link you shared above.

I’ve flagged this as a feature request with our product team for now. If there’s anything specific you’d like to see, please feel free to share! :slightly_smiling_face:

Cheers,
Matthew

In the above doc, there are example for the bold. When I am returning something inside <b> its not parsing, it is showing as it is. e,g
I am returning: this is <b> bold </b> text.
its showing: this is <b> bold </b> text.
<b> tag is also showing in the output.

@murtron Can you help me about this?

No worries :slightly_smiling_face:

We support string markdown (ie. [](), **) in text components. So you can use ** to bold the text in your example.

e.g.

{
  type:  "text",
  text:  "this is *bold* text",
  style: "header",
  align: "left"
}

Hope this helps! Let me know if you’ve any further questions.
