Intercom and Slack: Can you use notes to trigger a message in a Slack Channel

Hey everyone,

In a chat, is there a way to use the internal notes function to create a message in a specific slack channel? For example, say a chat comes in about a specific product question. Can the support rep use the internal note feature to create a new post in the slack channel, 'product-questions?'

Thanks!

Hi @Chelsea W

You can check out an Intercom app on the app store that triggers such messages in Slack whenever an internal note is left with specific conditions

Seems that it suits your use case!

Hey @chelsea w, Magnus from Support here!

Currently, it's not possible to trigger a Slack message in a channel with a Note specifically.

You can use our Slack App to get all conversation activity for a certain team or teammate sent to Slack, and this will include Notes! However, it will also include everything else, like assignment activity and replies.

The need to reach out to team members outside of Intercom from within the platform is something our engineers are aware of, and we're constantly working on new ways to solve common issues like these. Although I can't share anything specific, I recommend keeping an eye out on our "Built for you" page here to always be up to date with the latest features!
