In the old inbox we were able to add participants, and they would receive an email with all the conversation history and could respond to client from their email. In the new inbox if you add a person in the conversation they won't receive the conversation history until the client responds to the email first.

Right now we don't have a way to update the participants without sending a reply. Our product team has been tracking feedback on this since the change, though - I'll give that a bump so they see it's a pain point for you as well. I can certainly understand the importance of this feature for some workflows. Thank you for flagging this and sharing all the additional context.
