Hi everyone, is there a way to back up the published Articles, download it & save them somewhere safe? 🙂
Hello @wendy b - there's no such feature, no export (like there is import feature with Zendesk).
So what are the options:
- If you plan to continue using Articles, just keep messages (copies) in the draft status in Intercom
- If you plan to turn off Articles, then Copy/Paste it into a Google Doc (or Word) - which might make things difficult to get back into Intercom, lot's of manual work
- If you plan to turn off Articles, sync them with some other tool (such as Zendesk) - there are some tools that can do the migration automatically but it all costs money (for migration and for using that other service)
So not a lot of options here
@wendy b Not sure how much this would help you, but using the Intercom API you could export all articles as a JSON file. @daniel f11 shared a script where this is done. Check his post.
Can someone on intercom side confirm if articles are secure and backed up on their end (we put a lot of time into our articles!)
Hi
Since Intercom lacks built-in export capabilities, consider using a third-party app like Help Desk Migration.
You can back up all articles from a specific workspace into a CSV file, including categories, folders, attachments, and tags. You can also adjust article field mapping to your needs. This option is available by default for your main language.
For backing up content translations or importing only published articles, request additional customization. By default, Help Desk Migration imports all articles from a workspace, regardless of their status (Published or Draft).
Run a free demo migration to test how the migrated articles will appear in CSV. After the demo, you will receive a ZIP file with CSVs for each record type, which you can save to your preferred location, such as Google Drive or your laptop.
