Why does our Intercom open up on the message page not Welcome screen?

This is the state of the opening for all/new users/visitors. Obviously once started a conversation it changes. This is not the welcome screen - how do we change this?ZeusIntercomopening

That might be because of the way you have Intercom installed, it's possible there's some code added to always open the Messenger like so. It's usually the Intercom('show'); command. Can you check with your dev team to see if that's the case?
