We are creating product tours for customers with different URLs.
We are having an issue where we create the tour in one account, and it is not working for another account.
Some of the tours won't even start on another account; some get stuck a couple of steps later. We created all of them the same way and see inconsistencies.
Has anyone encountered this, and what solution did you find to the problem?
Hi
From what you’ve described it sounds like you may need to setup your Tour to launch on a dynamic URL, as described in our article here. Have you considered or tried doing this yet?
I added the dynamic link as described and it works on the page I built the tour but not on any other test accounts.
Normally when a Tour works for you when you build it, but it isn’t working for your end users, the issue has to do with it not being able to find the CSS Selectors that are associated with it’s Pointer Steps. If it can’t locate the element of the first Pointer Step of the Tour, the Tour won’t trigger because it doesn’t know where to point.
You can read up on that issue and how to fix it in our Article on the subject here.
If you still have issues or questions around any Tour behavior, it’s probably best to reach out to our support team via the Messenger or Email (team@intercom.io) so they can dive into your specific situation!
