I've set up a product tour with pointer steps. Why does this tour not fire?
This issue typically happens when CSS selectors (generated by the tour builder when choosing a pointer step) are not able to find the correct element on your site's page. If just one selector is not generated, the whole tour may not appear, or may exhibit some unexpected behaviour. This issue can also be the reason why pointer steps point to the wrong element on your site, or no element at all.
The best way to prevent this is to edit the HTML element you wish to point to and add a special data attribute in the form:
data-intercom-target=”...”
You can read more about how to do this in this article. Once you've done this, you can reselect the element and your tour should hopefully fire as intended.
