Can I add tables to my Inbox replies?

How can I add tables to the chatbox? If I try to copy a table and paste it on the chat it was just plain text without a table. Can this be resolved?

Are there any plans to make this happen?

For anyone who still wants it here are my workarounds:

  • For large tables, add it to Google Sheet and share the link
  • For small tables, take a screenshot and insert it in the conversation.

@selva Only work around I can think of is exporting your table and sending the file via chat

Hey @selva, to add some additional context to Kevin's response, your customisation options in the Inbox composer are limited. It's possible to bold and italicise text, insert articles and other apps, insert images or GIFs and attach files.

However, it's not currently possible to add any "richer" elements like font changes or tables.

Another workaround available to you here would be screenshot your table in another tool and include this as an image in your reply.

@eric f11 Is there any chance that updated formatting options will be available in the Inbox editor anytime soon (especially since it is now in Articles)? Tables in an email seems like it should be a pretty standard option.

Hey @user386, there are no plans currently to update the Inbox composer.

This would be a really valuable enhancement.

Being able to insert tables directly into an Intercom conversation reply would make it much easier to communicate structured information to customers without relying on screenshots or external links.

Some common use cases where this would help:

  • Support troubleshooting steps

  • Account details or configuration summaries

  • Data exports or quick reports

Currently the workaround is to send a screenshot or link to a spreadsheet, but that adds friction for both support teams and customers. Tables rendered directly in the conversation would keep the interaction clearer, faster, and more professional.

Even basic table support (rows, columns, simple formatting) in the Inbox editor would be a big improvement.
