Is it possible to change your username in the community?

It seems that connecting my intercom account to the community here has locked in my username. I’d rather not have my full name on posts, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a way to change my username. Is there any way to change it? For reference, I know that Gainsight (the community platform that the community is built on) has the option to use SSO and still let users choose their own usernames. Personally, I prefer that in communities than being forced to use whatever details are pulled across by the SSO. Thanks!

Intercom Newbie - some general questions!

Hi everyone!I’m new to Intercom and have some questions which might come across as extremely basic.  I’m trying to send out a once off message to a select cohort, but Intercom continues to send this to people who match in the future. Is it possible to send this once only at that given time? I’m creating a series for new users who sign up. It has 7 touch points over 3 weeks. I want a user to exit the series when they make a purchase, and begin another series. The attribute is [is_customer: true]. Once this updates, I want them to exit the following engagements.  Has anyone integrated Intercom with Slack? I want to be notified in my slack channel when someone starts a conversation. Is this possible? What is an underrated feature on Intercom? (Just out of curiosity!)Thank you in advance.

Looking for advice as service firm considering Intercom as communication method

Hey all, I operate a service-based firm looking to build out more of a saas-like platform to provide services to small businesses and individuals. Usually, we utilize client portals that have no form of client communication capabilities or have their own internal client chat method. However, email tends to be impossible to utilize as a whole, and portal chats tend to have their own limitations and lack of access and automation. Having the clean and on-site messenger for desktop and mobile seems to be a much better experience. But I have questions for those who are more seasoned using Intercom to see if my thinking on how to use it makes sense in the long-term.So going to spit ball some questions I’m hoping others can provide feedback or insight on!Has any other service based companies moved to using Intercom as a direct to client communication tool? For example, instead of shooting an email, have it shoot a direct notification to the user thru Intercom. Has that been more preferred by

In Intercom, under “Recent Page Views” on a User page,all the pages say about page title but if you hover on the info, you see the full page url.Can we update this title to be more specific without hovering on the info?

RN iOS pod install error

Hi guys, I’m currently setting up on my react native project. And after going through the Android steps, I’m attempting to run `pos install` in my ios folder. (Since I’m running a React Native version of 0.70.5, the package should be linked automatically according to docs. However i keep getting this error, ~ which suggests that the package. Desperate for help getting phone system, SMS, email, and fax systems up and running at 100%....

Hello, please understand that I have a few big issues on hand here, so I will explain a couple items first, then you can reply, then I am normally prompt to reply back.  I am a small human rescue nonprofit.  My VOIP/fax/SMS provider went totally out of business 2 days ago; not one bit of notice.  Everyone tells me to go with Intercom all the way, but honestly, until today, I had never looked at a portal that has as many options as you.  Which is great, I am not complaining. Is there a kind person, community leader that would help me get these various service on board today, ASAP?  I cannot operate with no forms of communication available to my clients.  HIPAA compliancy is a huge thing and if my total communications package is doomed, then I have 48 hours to bring up an entirely new system - thanks to the many federal communications guidelines that are imposed on nonprofits like me.Let me explain also that I am hearing impaired, so I am allowed to post a public email so people on this

Why is it a nightmare to change your Intercom plan? I don't want to talk to the "Sales team".

Two weeks ago I wanted to segment my leads and add a Calendly integration, ok, I had to use the Support Pro plan for that, no problem. At that exact moment, I already wanted to upgrade. If there were a button to pay more and upgrade me I would happily do it immediately.But no, there wasn't a button to upgrade; there was a button to "TALK WITH SALES TEAM".How unbearable. I asked the woman to upgrade, but she wanted to make a sales call. Omg, NO! I don't want a sales call! I was already using the feature and just wanted to confirm my upgrade. "Please upgrade me, miss." My upgrade was not done.The worst happened. 2 weeks passed, the trial ended. The feature I was using stopped working and disrupted my processes. And the UPGRADE hasn't been done yet!I've been through two more salespeople, and still nothing. Seriously, what the hell is this?Everything could have been resolved with the push of a button! But no, they did it by assigning me to thousands of sellers—a nightmare. I started thinki

Can we use Google Tag Manager to incremental count in intercom

Hey ,I have a use case that I'm not sure intercom can fully satisfy.I have GTM and Google analytic ,where I am tracking a count who clicked on payment button . So far our requirement is full filled . Now we want same count need to store on intercom with , user name ,email and payment , payment count must increase if same user click on multiple time . our purpose of doing this will be show some banner / tour when payment count is 1.Would anyone be able to help ?
