What does 'Completed and took next paths' and 'active' mean?

Completed and took next paths means they have moved on from the node you are looking at currently. They either took the did not match, or did match path. Active means that they are still waiting to match (or not match), they are still on that node. To see the users who disengaged you can click into the disengaged tab on your Series here:
You can also see a list of the disengaged at the bottom of your Series:
