customizing emails

Although I can’t show you a design myself, I though I might drop some tips and tricks that may help for creating your own customized email design!

When creating an email you are given the option to start from scratch or select from one of our 3 pre-made templates. Our templates are completely editable, so even if you select one of them you’ll still be able to tailor it to suit your needs. When you create the email, you will have the options to change:

• The background colour for the template and body
• The colour of the links

When you click on the Email composer, you will see the options to choose your Font (there are 3 to choose from) and Text Colour.

You can edit the size of the next by highlighting the text you want to change:

You can even resize your images within Intercom after you upload them 🎉

You can use our Visual Email Template Editor to create your own Templates to use in the future by going to Outbound > Settings > Email templates, and clicking “Design new template”.

What you can edit with the Visual Template Editor:

• Template background color.
• Body background color.
• Font.
• Font color.
• Font size (Heading 1, Heading 2, Paragraph, Small Text).

Some basic updates can be made to your emails within Email Templates under the Style section. Customization options built within the UI include the ability to update the background color for the body and content of the email message, as well as the color of the text and links within the email.

If you're looking for something more customized, there are two options:

1. You can use our Visual Template Editor and create new Templates that you can use over and over again 🙌 You can create your own Templates by going to Outbound > Settings > Templates and we have an excellent article here to help you get started on building 💪

2. You can set up your own HTML email templates. More detail on how to do that here. You can also create an Email using HTML without creating Templates, check out how to do that here. I'd suggest using a free online program like beefree.io to build out the design, then you can paste in the code.
