Any efficient methods to transfer conversations from Intercom to HubSpot?

Hi everyone,

We’re searching for a reliable method to transfer conversations from Intercom to HubSpot without losing important context. Our support team manages interactions through Intercom, but our sales team primarily uses HubSpot. Unfortunately, this separation often results in missing critical details during lead handoffs.

Has anyone found a good solution to keep conversation context intact, either through automated integration or streamlined manual processes? I'd appreciate any tips or recommendations you might have!

The built-in integration between Intercom and HubSpot works okay, but it won’t include your full conversation history or custom fields.

Another way could be building your own API integration, though that takes more setup and maintenance. A simpler route might be using a third-party tool like Skyvia to automate syncing and preserve more context without extra hassle. It mostly depends on your team's resources and needs

Hi Jiohn!

John, there's a guide on the HubSpot page about the integration at this link: . It includes a video demo that might help you.

And there's always the possibility of building a custom solution using the API—leveraging Intercom's /conversations endpoint and checking HubSpot's parameters to map the data accordingly.

Hope this helps :)

Hey @JohnEdwards

This is basically the exact problem that got me to build Interhubz, so figured I'd share how it works since the suggestions above either lose context (native integration) or require ongoing dev work (API route).

The core issue with most approaches is how they log conversations. Existing integrations drips messages into HubSpot as they happen, which creates a ton of fragmented timeline entries that are honestly pretty hard to read. Your sales team basically ends up scrolling through noise instead of getting quick context.

Interhubz waits for the conversation to close (or you can configure other triggers), then drops a single formatted note onto the HubSpot contact with everything in one place: full threaded transcript with who said what and when, any attachments that were shared, tags, duration, and a direct link back to the Intercom conversation if they need to dig deeper.

The part thats probably most relevant to your handoff problem: it automatically matches the Intercom contact to the right person in HubSpot (by email, phone, or custom IDs), so the note lands on the correct contact record without anyone having to do anything manually. Your sales team just opens the contact and sees the full conversation sitting there.

You can also filter out the stuff sales doesn't care about like bot-only interactions, super short exchanges, auto-closed convos so only substantive conversations make it through. (left you screenshots below of the configuration space of the app)

You can google for or "HubSpot Integration" in the intercom app store to try it out. Or DM me here!
