Copying Ticket Text Selection

Whenever I select text from a ticket comment, no matter how I copy (ctrl+c or right click), the entire message gets copied instead of the selected text.

Anyone else experience this and have a solution?

Yes, this seems to be a known behavior inside the Intercom Inbox, when copying text from a ticket comment, the entire message sometimes gets copied instead of just the highlighted portion.

It’s likely related to how Intercom handles message rendering (especially with rich text formatting).

A few workarounds you can try:

  • Open the conversation in full view and use the “View original message” option (if available), then copy from there.

  • Paste the copied text into a plain text editor first, sometimes it strips the formatting and keeps only the selected portion.

  • If it’s happening consistently, report it to Intercom Support with details about your browser and OS version, since it might be a UI bug they’re already tracking.

Hopefully Intercom improves this soon, selective copying would make message handling much easier.

@Kevin 3PMercury I couldn’t recreate the issue in Arc browser which is Chromium-based -- which browser are you using?

Was it a public comment or a note specifically that was the issue?

Hopefully you can get to the bottom of the issue -- maybe a conflict with an extension or addon?

Sorry you are having this issue, I can see that being annoying!
