Is there a limit to the number of list items you can add to an attribute list?

I saw that, but I am talking specifically about list entries for one attribute. So if I have 'product code' as an attribute, and in its list I add all of our product codes, so we can search to see which are the most popular prods. Does the list for the attribute count as part of the broader attribute limitation of 250?
