Bulk export ~900 Knowledge Base Articles - best approach (API/Tool)?

Hi Intercom Community,

We have around 900–950 items under Knowledge → Content → Articles in our Intercom workspace. They’re essentially snippets.

We need to export all of them with title + body/content (CSV or JSON is fine).

What’s the best way to do this at scale?

Is the correct approach to use the Articles API (list all articles + retrieve each article to get the title and body fields)?

If yes, any tips for handling export of this volume (pagination/rate limits), or is there a supported bulk-export option?

It seems you probably have three options here right now…

1. API - as you mentioned, keeping rate limits etc in mind from developers.intercom.com

2. Help desk migration tool - in the community someone mentioned this option, I haven't tried it personally but it's on my radar.

3. Using some sort of webscraper - here's an example someone created that may or may not work correctly, there's also AI based tools like Firecrawl

I don't believe the data export or MCP includes articles at the moment or those would be very useful options.

Hope this helps!

Hey @בן גטניו,

If you don't have a developer available right now, you can use Postman (a free API testing tool) to do this without writing a script:

  1. Set up the GET /articles request in Postman with your Access Token.

  2. Use the "Postman Runner" to automatically handle the pagination and save the responses to a JSON file.

  3. Use a free online "JSON to CSV" converter to flatten the file into the Title/Body format you need

I hope you find this helpful.
