When saving a draft in the article editor, the live article's "last updated" timestamp updates as if a change was published — even when no published changes were made. The timestamp should only reflect the last time a change was actually published to the live article.
Draft saves should not update the "last updated" date on published articles

Hey Lizzie! I can confirm this — I just reproduced it on one of my own articles. Saving a draft updates the public-facing "last updated" timestamp immediately, even without publishing any changes. Definitely a bug.
One small silver lining: the internal Knowledge Hub does still show the correct "last published" date in the article details panel (left drawer in the editor), so the underlying data is accurate — it's specifically the public-facing timestamp that's misbehaving.
For reporting this, the best route is directly through the Intercom support chat (the messenger in your workspace) rather than the community — bugs get triaged by the support team there and escalated to engineering.
