How can I display all the search results in articles? It only appears to show 10 | Community

We are building a substantial knowledge base collection of articles in intercom.  However, many terms are repeated in the article, and when one searches for such a term, only 10 articles are displayed.  How do we get a list of all the articles, even if we need to scroll through several pages?

Hi @Ana Henry ,

Yeah, that’s just how Intercom’s Help Center search works right now, it’ll cap the results at 10, no “load more” button, no paging. i understand it’s super frustrating when you’ve got a big KB.

Workarounds you can try:

  • Search from the Articles section in the Intercom workspace (instead of the public Help Center). That search will show you all matches, not just 10.

  • Use the Articles API : you can hit /articles with a search term and pull back every matching article. A lot of teams just run a quick script or internal tool for this.

  • Structure/tagging : if you find the same term spamming across dozens of articles, tagging or grouping content sometimes makes it easier to surface than relying on keyword search.

Thank you @Joseph S. .  I hope that this important limitation of the Help Center Search is made a enhancement  priority in the near future.  I appreciate your workarounds but they do not apply to my problem, which is users of the system searching for the articles, not creators looking for articles.  I would appreciate any additional suggestions on how to manage which 10 articles are displayed to users.

Sincerely,

Ana Henry

We are building a substantial knowledge base collection of articles in intercom.  However, many terms are repeated in the article, and when one searches for such a term like sale my home, only 10 articles are displayed.  How do we get a list of all the articles, even if we need to scroll through several pages?

Intercom’s help center search only shows the top 10 results by default, which can be limiting when terms repeat across many articles. To access the full list, you’ll need to use the Articles search in the Intercom workspace rather than the public help center. From there, you can filter by keywords, tags, or collections, and scroll through all matching results. If you want a complete export, you can use the Content Export feature in Intercom’s settings to generate a full list of articles.
