Hi there! Was wondering if there is a way to remove the CTA button for News Items (the button circled in red in the image I have attached below)?

It looks like this is a button that your team has added to the News Item, you can definitely delete this! You'll just need to click on the button while in edit mode, and click delete. I created a short gif to show the process of adding and deleting a button:
