I have not been able to move between different URL pages to easily build a Product Tour.

Hey @Dallas Ramey 👋 Jacques here from Intercom Support. I hope all is well today!

To build a product tour on multiple URLs, you can follow these steps:

  1. Start Building Your Tour on One URL
    • Begin by entering one example URL where you want to build your tour.
    • Use the tour builder to add steps and messages on this page.
  2. Use Pointers with "Click on the Element" to Navigate Between Pages
    • When creating a pointer step, select a website element (like a button or navigation link) that users will click to advance the tour.
    • In the step settings, set the tour to advance when the user clicks on that element.
    • If clicking this element navigates to another page, you can continue building the tour on that next page by using the "Navigate somewhere else" option in the builder. This allows the tour to continue seamlessly across multiple URLs.
  3. Design Steps on Each Page
    • On each page, add the relevant tour steps (posts, pointers, or video pointers) to guide users through the product features on that page.
    • The tour will automatically scroll to each message and advance as users interact with the elements.
  4. Handle Dynamic URLs if Needed
    • If your URLs are dynamic (e.g., user-specific subdomains or query parameters), use audience targeting rules with "Page URL contains" to match a consistent part of the URL so the tour triggers correctly on all relevant pages.
  5. Preview and Test Your Multi-Page Tour
    • Use the preview feature to see how the tour flows across pages.
    • Test the tour live to ensure that clicking elements correctly advances the tour and navigates users to the next page in the sequence.
  6. Additional Tips
    • Make sure the UI elements you point to are consistent across dynamic URLs.
    • If you encounter delays in pointer steps appearing after a page change, this is expected as the system waits for the page to render.
    • You can reorder steps by dragging them in the builder to ensure the correct sequence.
