Some features not working on website (Beacons and Posts)

Hi, I have intercom set up on our website through GTM. The messenger is in the bottom and you can interact with it. I have banners working. But… when I go to set up a Beacon (tool tip) or a Post it won’t show up on the page.

Any ideas?

thanks

Hey @Matt Fraser, Sounds like the Messenger itself is working fine, so that’s a good sign.

For Beacons or Posts not showing, a few things to check:

  • Make sure the targeting rules (like URL, audience filters, or event triggers) are set correctly.

  • If you're using GTM, double-check that Intercom is loading early enough on the page—sometimes timing can affect visibility.

  • Also, make sure there’s no CSS or other scripts hiding the Beacon/Post element.

If everything looks right, try loading the page in incognito mode to rule out cache or extension conflicts.

Hope that helps!

Hi @Matt Fraser ! Do you have specific triggers/audience filters you’re using for the posts / tooltips? Also, for the tooltips are you using custom CSS tags, or using the options to click to target an object or by text?

I tried both object and text and neither showed up. They look great in the preview but not the live website. The only filter I have is for Visitors and on a specific page.

Thanks Angel.
