Heya Intercom friends! 👋
How are folks currently managing notices and announcements to your team inside Intercom? We’ve tried Slack and email, but of course those are only useful if you’re in the tool or have notifications turned on (and happen to see them—which is rare when you’re really in a flow).
We've all been there, that moment when something urgent pops up—a phishing attack, a whirlwind process change—and we need our entire team to know, understand, and respond ASAP.
Wanted to share what we’ve been doing in case it’s helpful. At PixieBrix, we’ve been using our Notices Mod to broadcast messages and announcements to our team. With a few clicks, we can send out an immediate, cannot-be-missed message that takes over the entire screen. And we can set it so that our team members must acknowledge the notice before they proceed with their work.
A bit disruptive, but that’s the point—making sure critical information doesn't fall through the cracks. Whether we're dealing with a security threat, a procedural overhaul, or essential updates, we can be certain that every team member is on the same page...literally!
It's also been useful for sharing wins or celebrating milestones—a fantastic, non-intrusive way to foster team spirit while working remotely.
It’s easy to try it out, and even easier to use on a daily basis.
Users will view any existing notices in a sidebar, from any page in Chrome.

When you want to create a new announcement, just click Create notice. You can add a link for more info, or style the notice with markdown formatting to create lists, add images, or emphasize certain text. Set the group to get the announcement and choose if it should require acknowledgement.

Your teammates will immediately receive the notification, and if the acknowledgement was required, their screen will be disabled until they acknowledge the notice.

Users can always view their notifications in the sidebar, and can archive any unnecessary ones to reduce clutter.
So what do you think? Anyone using anything else to get their team’s attention?
