Different Answer for Different Customers | Community

I will have data of my customers on my website (e.g. hours played). I want FinBot to answer certain questions differently depending on this data. Is there any way to do this?

You’ll need to set this up as an attribute: Settings > Data > People > Attributes > + Create Attribute > Format = Number > Name = hours played > Save. Then connect your data to the attribute, see this help article for assistance there.


Hey ​@Ivan J! I think you can likely do this, and that’ll depend on how complex you want to make the setup, and how you want it available. You can reference user attributes in Fin guidance, and then use that to direct Fin to have different answers. 

What were you hoping to set up, specifically?

Our users will have different “Ranks” which we track outside of Intercom. We will have multiple ranks and depending on the rank the FinBot answer (in a specific scenario) should be different. So what i’m looking for is how to constantly have this data coming in to FinBot, how can FinBot automatically detect what rank the user is and from there know which answer to give.

Hey ​@Ivan J, sorry I missed this! First, I recommend following ​@Tommy Mains’s advice here to get the data sent from your product to Intercom as an attribute. Send those ranks over, so that they can be easily referenced

Then, create an audience for each rank.

Finally, craft Guidance for each rank (audience) - or create a snippet that’s targeted to each audience.
