Can Fin read data from my excel sheet or Google sheet and answer user question? I tried to add the google sheet as webpage for Fin content, but it shows error.

Hello Sera!

Currently, Fin AI Agent can use PDF files, Snippets, Custom Answers, and Content from conversations beta], as well as external content sources from a public URL. I don’t believe that Excel or Google Sheets are supported by Fin AI at the moment.

You might have some luck by creating an internal article and importing one of these files or by copying and pasting the information into the article.

Hope this points you in the right direction!

I put my google sheet as a public URL, but it does not work. Thanks though.

Hi @Sera Smith  👋

Fin cannot directly read or extract structured data from a Google Sheet or Excel file.
❌ Adding a Google Sheet URL as a webpage won’t work because Fin cannot process or extract structured data from embedded documents.

The suggestion above is a good one. “Converting the google sheet into a Help Center Article”.

Our other options beyond this would become more technical. I hope the simpler approach is the solution you needed.

@Paul Byrne could the user take a screen grab of a spreadsheet and share the image with Fin to consume?

@Sera Smith we've had some consulting clients use a PDF of a spreadsheet successfully with Fin.

If it's not data you need updated regularly, that might be a good way to include it.

I was wondering if you could create a public shared url link and use Sources for websites to point that url into Fin but sounds like above they are saying it won’t working -- I was thinking to keep in mind if it should be internal not a customer facing URL it's better not to add it to public content in that case snippets or PDF might be better.
