How can FIN help create content on our platform? | Community

We are looking to utilize FIN in creating hotel profiles on our platform. This would require FIN to pull certain information from external sources and use that information to create content on our platform. Are these features that FIN offers? TIA!

Fin isn't really designed to pull data from external sources or generate new content directly on your platform — it mainly answers questions using existing content you’ve uploaded (like your help articles or FAQs).

We actually used eesel to help organize and train content more precisely inside Intercom, which made it easier to control how AI answers, but creating full profiles from external data isn’t something Fin supports natively right now.

Might be worth combining Fin with other data tools or custom integrations if you need more advanced content generation. Hope that helps!

I believe Fin Tasks could be helpful in the future when it’s out of the Beta stage. You basically gather content from the end-user, and can do 1 or a series of API calls to external systems. 

One task could be something like (in a nutshell): 

  1. retrieve some data from the end-user and store it in a temporary attribute X
  2. pull data from an external system using the attribute X provided in 1
  3. store the result of 2
  4. display 3 and ask more questions to the end-user 
  5. use the data from 3 and 4 to push something into your external system through an API call

That’s basically what you’d get with Fin tasks. So overall I *think* it could work. But I don’t know when Fin Tasks are going GA. Something you can probably ask your Account Manager!
