Hi there!

We use external tools to aid our articles visually, and we would love to be able to embed them in your articles.

Additionally, allowing HTML, CSS or iFrames would let us customize the articles to match our company look.

Looks like quite a few people are asking about this in the Help Center, so fingers crossed it’ll be added in a future update.

Hey there @Florentin Ory, Emily here from Support Engineering at Intercom 👋🏼

Currently, Intercom does not support embedding iframes or custom HTML directly into articles, which includes videos from platforms like Arcade that are not on the supported list. The Help Center does not allow the use of <iframe> elements due to the inability to edit the HTML of the Help Center.

However, you can embed videos from supported platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, Loom, Vidyard, or StreamIO using the built-in features.

For unsupported platforms, there is no workaround to embed them directly. It's a fantastic idea! 💡I'd be happy to flag this as a Feature Request with our Product Team! ✅

Seems like it should be on the immediate to do list by a company who has so many other nice features. Embed code is provided by so many sources like canva that are widely used and look great. Please add

Hi folks 👋! Nigel from Arcade here.

We’ve got many customers looking to embed Arcades into their Intercom knowledge base to educate customers in an interactive way. We’d love to be connected to the Intercom team and allow them to better help their customers.  Here’s an example of what we’re doing with Gitbook: https://docs.arcade.software/kb/build/edit

This is an essential feature, especially when trying to make Intercom our hub for all client interaction.

I’d also like to embed Arcades into articles. I had assumed this was already possible and was pretty disappointed to find out it wasn’t. I’m considering moving my articles elsewhere — but that’s annoying as I enjoy the integration Articles have with the chat widget.

We at UpMenu.com would also like to embed Arcade Software (https://www.arcade.software/) into our Intercom Help Center

We would like to be able to embed vimeo showcases. This will allow us to keep our videos hidden from anyone outside of our customers and protect our IP! Thanks!

Worth looking through this article to see new updates in case it would help with anything for you.

@Jennifer K Is it possible to embed an iframe? It looks like you switched this to existing functionality but I can’t figure it out.

Hi @Jennifer S12

No this is not implemented but our product team have suggested similar functionality in articles so this is why it has been updated to this rather than released

Hi @Jennifer K ,

Thanks for update.

We checked new features but still it is not possible to embed custom code (or iframe).

So it is not possible to integrate with https://www.arcade.software/.

I would revert the status of the ticket back to Not Planned Yet, we’re looking to move our knowledgebase over to Intercom but we currently use Arcade Demo’s to support our current articles and need to keep this functionality as it is so crucial to support. Please can this functionality be looked at again? As it is something that would massively benefit a lot of customers (and potential ones)

This is something we really want as well! We have interactive demos and they would improve our articles so much. Your suggestion does not work. there is not a work around.

Come on guys.. It doesn’t seem that this would be a difficult feature to add.

I just went through a created a bunch of interactive demos on Arcade, only to find out you don’t allow embed… That’s really frustrating. Is there a plan to move forward with this feature or no?

This would be very helpful for us. Nearly all other articles / help centers have something like this. Would love to embed Scribes into my articles.

We are trying to achieve the same thing. Scribe is growing exponentially and it’d a good idea to get this done as soon as possible.

Agreeing that this is a pretty high priority request for our team as well. We’re not able to support any kind of demos or advanced documentation currently, and are having to look outside of Intercom for solutions. This would be a huge huge win to get on the roadmap.

I am about to undertake a complete overhaul of our materials and being able to embed iframes would save me hundreds of hours of work to get it all into Intercom appropriately.

Hello,
We’re very interested in moving forward with Intercom, but a key requirement for us is the ability to embed our Arcades directly into the Help Center. This integration is essential for delivering the interactive experience we want for our users.
We’re currently considering alternatives like GitBook, which support this functionality natively. If Intercom can support or suggest a workaround for embedding Arcades, we’d be eager to proceed.

Seems like a no brainer to me, this should be a feature for the knowledge center.

My use case - embed a calendar for users to booked support sessions

Hey @Emilygav, looks like Intercom did start supporting multiple content type embeds from Supademo (another player in the same category). This was in the August Product announcement email - https://www.intercom.com/help/en/articles/56978-format-an-article

Would be great if at least the same functionality (if not the entire iframe embedding) is also enabled for Storylane as we still get many requests each month from our customers and prospects asking for the ability to embed their Storylane content inside Intercom help docs.
