Hi,

Gmail supports a 30 second “unsend”. Outlook provides “Recall” mail option.

Does intercom have anything similar?

@intercom team - is it possible to convert this post to a feature request or should I post separately?

Intercom does not currently have the functionality to recall emails once they have been sent. The closest thing we offer at the moment is that you can pause an outbound email if it is a Dynamic email, which will prevent it from sending to any further users at the time it's paused.

I have added this to our list of ideas on your behalf though! :)

Hello, any updates? This feature is truly essential. I’m sure that if you ran a survey, the majority of your Intercom customers would agree it’s a must-have. I’m genuinely surprised it hasn’t been implemented yet, given that most modern email providers (like Gmail) and messaging apps already offer an undo/unsend function.

Please take this request seriously we’ve been loyal Intercom customers for many years. I’m confident even your own team members would find this feature valuable, as it’s both basic and essential. A feature like this should not take more than a month to implement, and I can see that it has been requested multiple times in the past.

What we need is an undo/unsend message option with at least a 30-second window across all communication channels.

A new agent in my team explained that Freshdesk have this option inbuilt already, known as ‘delay send.’ It sounds like it would be very useful for many Intercom customers.

Also a former Freshdesk user, this was a helpful feature.  It was configurable at the user profile level to either be on or off.  If it was on, it would have a 10 second delay after selecting ‘send’ on a reply where you could cancel and prevent the reply from sending to the customer.  The team found it helpful as sometimes right after you send you catch a spelling mistake or realize you wanted to add something else before sending.

Hi @Paul D, I correctly assigned the permission to my teammates and myself, but I cannot figure out how to set up the Unsend delay, and I don’t see the little popup to Unsend.
is there something I am doing wrong?
Is it available for the Messenger conversations? Or only for outbound messages? Thanks!
