Ticket portal and ticket creation

Hi Intercom, together with our team we are activating the ticket portal and wanted to share some ideas:

Ticket portal:

  • Ability to add custom column: we’d think adding custom columns to a ticket will be super helpful for our customers to see our prioritization.
  • Ability to assign more than one account to one ticket: Some of our customers work with multiple accounts, it would be great if we could assign multiple companies to a ticket so that they have the overview.
  • Ability to hide accounts in the drop down list in the ticket portal (or star the ones you want to easily find)

Ticket creation:

  • Ability to change the ticket type when a customer reports tickets themselves: we use tickets in the form of bugs and feedback. Sometimes our customers report something but it should rather be a normal request or feedback. It would be great if we could reverse the ticket into a conversation or into another ticket type.

Hi @Laura Klingenberg

Jennifer here from Intercom 🚀

Thanks for all the feedback! I will pass it on to our Product Team for you and keep my fingers crossed 🤞

Whenever we do release new features, we announce them on the Product Changes page, so I would recommend keeping an eye there.

Yes, especially the multiple accounts is really a big thing for us. Currently we’re trying to migrate from Zendesk to Intercom. And the fact that tickets can only be connected to one account is a big problem. All historic tickets from Zendesk are no longer connected to the customer after import. This is because Intercom created a new account for that customer.

That wouldn’t be a problem if a ticket can have more than one account connected to it, or if it would be possible to just change the associated account in that ticket. In Zendesk both options are no problem at all so it would really be a big, big, big relief if this could be made possible in Intercom. Because at the moment I am having doubts whether I should make the switch, because some of our customers will complain not being able to access their ticket history anymore :-(

Changing ticket type is a big pain for us.
