100% agreed -

manually triggering is not a great use of time and any time there is manual effort, there is room for error.

Ideal state would be to proactively schedule the dates for holiday / out of office schedule for the year

(easily accomplished in ZenDesk by date)

This was a feature we used in Zendesk. Their ‘office hours/schedule’ allowed us to plan the holidays we observed throughout the year and use them in custom triggers for auto-responders instead of having to manually turn them on or off.

You could schedule a Custom Bot to trigger after a user’s first message with these details – not the same, but a decent workaround?

This currently cannot be scheduled but there is an option to add a special notice

Hey folks- just sharing - newer to Intercom but I did find away to do this recently because like you I hated having to login and out at midnight around the holidays for messages and being a 24/7 operation our office hours don’t shut off. 

Its not perfect because you have to create a duplicate workflow step - but its solving this issue for me for now at least. 

To be clear where I am doing this is - in front of our Chat ability, our phone IVR and emails. 

What I have done is taken my main Workflow - Duplicated it - added the Holiday name to it for reference. Then under the Starting Action: Triggering Rules: Frequency and Scheduling - you can set your Custom Date to start and stop. 
 


Then it appears on my scheduled workflow list. 


 Yes it creates more workflows - but the scheduler starting and stopping it automatically has helped. JUST NOTE: You can not set starting custom dates for LIVE or PAUSED workflows - that is why I just duplicated and made ones specifically for upcoming holidays.

This seems like the most basic function not available for Fin. I use several other platforms and all have a way to schedule Holidays without needing to manually do it every holiday.

I used to be annoyed that I had to do it manually once a year in Zendesk but using Fin for Zendesk it is killing us as Fin bypasses the ZD holiday schedule and when a customer asks for an escalation to a human it is making a promise it can’t deliver on.

At least the general Office Hours rules work well.

Has anyone gotten access to the feature yet? If I’m not mistaken, I think I saw it announced somewhere, but at least we don’t have it in our settings.

Yeah - I got access this morning.
However the closed days are set a workspace level not Brand or Channel level 


I’d love access to this but we don’t seem to have received it. Is there a beta we can get access to ?
