It appears that the Apple icon on users’ messages has now been switched to a phone symbol; Android remains the same. Is this a glitch or a permanent change? Just checking, as the Apple symbol was helpful in quickly recognizing the OS of our users.

This was caused by a recently identified bug that has now been fixed. You should start seeing the Apple logo as expected going forward.
If you're still seeing the phone icon, try doing a hard refresh (Cmd + Shift + R on Mac or Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows), which should resolve it.
