Login issue for agents? | Community

From time to time, agents cannot log-in and see different errors:

  • Developer login page instead of regular one
  • Or error “You’re running old version of the Intercom web app...” (hard clear of cache and cookies works from 3-4 attempt)

Does anyone else encounters such behavior, or are we the only lucky one? :) What helped you with that?

For the context, it happens with several people at once, different devices, different IP, location. The browser is updated, no internet connection issues.

We’re using EU Data Hosting, btw

UPD: it seems the issue is connected to the fact, that the affected agents have alias in their working E-Mail. For some reason, Intercom tries to log in via alias instead of main e-mail, resulting in error. The log in via manually entering password might work in some cases. Still waiting for reply from the Intercom team.

@User1274 I saw the one about you are running an old version of Intercom today for the first time ever 🤣

I don’t ever remember it but it was a minor issue for me, are you using Google Login or user/password login? I imagine it’s more painful if you have to enter your login again many times but with Google Login it’s so quick and easy -- I don’t really think much about it if I get logged out in the browser.

That being said I don’t normally see that on a regular basis except for the one user/password login account that I use and that’s usually when someone else has also logged into that one -- so unless you are using the account for multiple users, it probably shouldn’t be happening frequently.

If it is and you aren’t logging into one account with multiple users then I’d say -- check in with support or review if there’s something up with the browser setup that’s causing the logout and errors.  I do see the service not available sometime briefly but usually a refresh resolves it.

Curious to hear if others are having this issue.

Hope this helps!

Interesting hmm.   Hopefully you get some answers there, I’m not aware of problems with this but hopefully the Intercom team can get to the bottom of this for you.
