Allow email composer pop-out window

The email composer/reply pane is too small.

FinAI acknowledges that, as of Feb 2026, “The email composer in Intercom doesn't have a built-in option to resize or make the composition pane larger within a thread. The composer size is fixed in the interface.”

It is especially limiting if you add screenshots, or have a long reply to review before sending to a customer.

It would be more helpful if you could do a pop-out window for composing an email reply to a thread, thanks.

Hi,

It is definitely frustrating that the email composer remains so small when you are trying to handle long replies and screenshots. As of February 2026, Intercom still does not have a native pop out or resizing tool for the reply pane within a thread. To get a bigger workspace, you can draft your message in a new Help Center Article or a blank Outbound Email since those both use a full screen editor. Once you finish your draft, you can simply copy and paste it back into the conversation reply area.

Hi Roderick,

I completely agree, the fixed-size email composer can be limiting, especially when writing long replies or adding screenshots. A pop-out or resizable window would make reviewing and composing responses much easier and more efficient.

As a temporary workaround, some users draft longer replies in an external site or text editor and then paste the final version into the composer. It’s not perfect, but it can help manage longer messages until a native pop-out feature is introduced.

Hopefully, Intercom considers adding this functionality soon.

100%

I often find myself writing messages in Text Editor and then paste them into Intercom - which is a faff and messy. I can’t be the only person who likes to read what I’ve written before sending, and currently I can only see a paragraph or so in the editor
