Dataset export - timestamp | Community

Hi Team,

Where can I change the timestamp for the Dataset export to any other than the default one? I can simply switch that in other views, but not for Dataset export where I would need to do so. Thank you for any hint.

@Martin S14 Can you share more about what you mean by the ‘timestamp’ in this case? Do you mean the time range or something else?

Do you have this new version that says “export richer data with our improved data export experience” ?

There’s a date range at the top but I think maybe you are talking about time stamp and that’s something different you are thinking of?

Hi @Nathan Sudds - thanks for your reply!

I'm attaching the screenshot, highlighting the Timestamps settings in the Dataset export where it seems I am not able to adjust that for the data export.

Previously, I was able to export the data in the selected time zone also in the Data export (legacy) , but now it only appears in the default profile time zone.

I am just curious to know if there is a way changing that in the Dataset export.

In the “live reports”, there's a chance to change the timezone the data is displayed for, which is great. And I believe exporting the data from this view is showing the set time zone.

Thank you

Hey @Nathan Sudds - did the details provided help?

You cannot change the timestamp directly in the Dataset export; it uses the default format. To adjust it, either modify the timestamp format in the source view before exporting or reformat it after export.

Hey there @xemimo, Emily here from Support Engineering at Intercom 👋🏼

Currently, for Dataset exports (including the new Data export), the timestamps are set to the default workspace timezone, and there is no option to change the timezone for the export itself. This differs from some live reports, where you can adjust the timezone for data display and export.

The workspace timezone can be set in Settings > Workspace > General > Workspace name & time zone, and this setting determines the timezone used in exports. However, there is no feature to select a different timezone specifically for Dataset exports at the time of export.

If you need to adjust the timezone, you would need to do so after exporting the data, as the export will always use the workspace's default timezone.

Hope this helps!
