Why can’t I aggregate conversation volume in my custom report?

I can aggregate all other conversation metrics in a custom report except for conversation volume, why is that?

Conversation volume will always display as a total. Unlike other conversation metrics in a custom report, it’s not possible to aggregate conversation volume.
