Is there any way to have FIN automate holiday office closures?

I would like to setup for all of 2026 for FIN give advance notice when a holiday office closure is approaching and then set proper expectations for human responses during the holiday.

I don’t want to create a separate workflow for each holiday.

Appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

@Stephen Boucher  just to add some more context here,  you can use Fin AI for Holiday closure information but unfortunately I'm not sure that Fin is that great yet at knowing when to give that information so it only do it at the time of the holiday or leading up to it.

I wish there was a way in advance to set up the holiday schedules and we actually recently talked about this on the Intercom Office Hours over the holidays.

One way you could set up some of this in advance that another member of the community shared was that they make a separate workflow for the holiday and then drag it above the other workflow but like you I don't want to do that and I don't know if that would work at scale to build up the ones for the year because you may change your workflows over time.   They were just duplicating it and then moving it above at the time of the holiday.

I really think it would be useful for Intercom to provide a tool that allows for scheduling holidays in advance or importing a list of holidays that impact the regular office hours and then have Fin be aware of this.

I've mostly encourage teams to do it at the time of the holiday because there's not a reliable way to do it in advance in my opinion.  The other problem is remembering to take off the special notifications and disabling or deleting the holiday hours related guidance otherwise it's going to continue to use that after the fact.  The good thing is it seems that Fin is a little bit better at knowing when to not use that information it's no longer relevant but the special notice can stay up for a while before people realize it because you're usually not opening the messenger yourself.  So it might be good to add a reminder to the calendar to take it down after the holiday.

For some of our consulting clients what we did was put guidance in around the holidays that helped to answer any question if they asked about business hours to respond with the regular hours and their hours during the holidays including closures.

Having a special notice that was mentioned is also good but having Fin also be aware is very helpful so if a user asks a question mid conversation or via other channels  it doesn't give the wrong information about regular hours instead of holiday hours.

Hope this helps
