Not able to call 13 business numbers within Australia through Intercom. 

 

As we deal with multiple external stakeholders who use this landline number this does make it difficult for staff as we cannot use work phones for these calls.

If you are finding it impossible to reach specific 13-series business numbers via Intercom, you will need to get in touch with Intercom Support directly. As a member of the community, I'm afraid there isn't much we can do to troubleshoot this sort of routing issue from our end.

 

Intercom generally relies on a third-party VOIP provider to handle call placement. There are a variety of technical reasons why these specific Australian numbers might not be connecting—ranging from carrier restrictions to regional dialling configurations—so it is unlikely to be a simple setting you can toggle in your dashboard.

 

My recommendation: Directly contact to Intercom Customer Support via Messenger and specifically request a call trace. This will enable their technical team to pinpoint exactly where the connection is failing and hopefully get it sorted straight away.

 

As an aside, it is worth noting that some VOIP providers require specific "overseas" or "premium" permissions to be enabled for certain Australian shorthand numbers (like 13 and 1300), so mentioning that context to the support team should help speed things up.
