We would like the ability to configure how linked PDF attachments behave within the article editing interface.
Currently, when linking to a PDF, there is no option to control whether the file automatically downloads or opens in a new browser tab. We are requesting a setting in the article editor that allows authors to choose the behavior for each attachment link.
Requested functionality:
Add an option in the article editing space allowing authors to select:
Open PDF in a new browser tab, or
Download the PDF directly
This setting should be selectable per link or attachment.
Use case:
Some documents should open immediately for viewing, while others should download for offline use. Providing this control improves user experience and reduces confusion.
