Currently, Intercom sends a single push notification when a user receives a new message in Messenger. If this notification is dismissed or ignored, users are not reminded again about their unread message unless a new message is sent.
I’m requesting a feature that automatically sends follow-up push notifications to users if they have unread messages after a set period of time. This would work similarly to messaging apps like Facebook Messenger, which periodically remind users to check unread conversations.
Benefits of this feature:
-
Ensures users don’t unintentionally miss important messages
-
Increases response rates and conversation completion
-
Boosts re-engagement by notifying users again when they overlook the initial notification
-
Reduces the need for manual follow-ups by support teams
Suggested configuration options:
-
Ability to set the delay before a reminder notification is sent
-
Customizable frequency and limit of reminder notifications
-
Option to enable/disable for specific message types or workflows
This would benefit all teams relying on Intercom Messenger for timely and effective communications. Thank you for considering this enhancement!
