Its terrible practice that an internal intercom article does not recognise and update the url of another intercom article when a change is made, meaning article links break with no user alert.

The system should recognise that article a has been linked to article b, if article a updates the title it should automatically update the article link without requiring manual intervention,

Hey @Nicole Connor 👋,

I completely get your frustration there—broken links are a proper headache.

Until Intercom sorts out a native fix for that, I’ve found a bit of a "pro" workaround that should save you the aggro of manual updates:

When you're linking your articles, try stripping the URL back to just the ID. For example, instead of using the full address: https://www.intercom.com/help/en/articles/9639255-getting-started-with-intercom

Just use the ID portion: https://www.intercom.com/help/en/articles/9639255

By using only the ID, Intercom will automatically redirect the user to the correct, updated title every single time, regardless of how many times you change it. It’s a much more robust way to handle it and stops those links from going pear-shaped.

Hope that clears things up for you!

Cheers,
