Right now the outbound caller ID is set to our main number we have through Intercom. Currently we forward all our 800 number and advertised local number to it so we did not need to port any numbers over.  I would like to set that Outbound caller ID to our 800 number so they see a familiar number show up.

This is a big deal as right now people think we are SPAM callers since they don’t recognize the number.

Hi @Josh Dowdy

Jennifer here from Intercom

Thanks for this suggestion! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞

Upvoting this and also requesting that you can add a Caller ID name, not solely a phone number. So for example, when we call out it could say “DaySmart” or “DaySmart Support”.

Yes, this is exactly what we need as well! One of our biggest issues is when we call patients, they are unaware of who we are and think that we are just SPAM. Meanwhile, we actually work with their healthcare providers and are calling them for very legitimate reasons.

Strong upvote! We’re considering using another system for voice (OpenPhone) that does support this because it’s a massive customer experience detractor

We would also like to add a Caller ID name (like our company name) for outbound calls. That seems like a very basic offering for a phone service. We’re exploring other options as it doesn’t make sense to use a number from Intercom that does not offer this.

I’d like to advocate for Intercom also providing “voice integrity” services to avoid numbers being labeled Spam. If you’re going to provide phone service for companies that want to provide great customer service, this seems like table stakes to me.
