Currently, it seems the only option to export a conversation is to a TXT file. When a user requests I send them a copy of the transcript, I have to export as TXT, then copy into an email body, then manually go back through the conversation and add any images and or links shared back and forth. I would love to see an option to export the conversation that allows me to easily copy/paste into an email and retain formatting and images.

Hey @meg h, we typically record feature requests via our @Product Wishlist group, so I'll tag it in here 😁 thanks for sharing your feedback!

Hi @Michael Nortei

This feature has not been added yet.

There's a few ways that you can export conversation data now though 😁

1. By downloading conversations. Click on the three dots on the top right corner of a conversation, like this 👇

2. By having a customer press the export button in the Messenger, like you see below ⬇️

3. By exporting data about your conversations under Reports > Customer Support > Export. To do this, simply choose a range of dates, as well as any filters or field specifications that fit your needs here. Note that this will not export the content of the conversations.

4. Using our Conversations API to extract full conversations. You'd first have to list the conversations, and then use GET for individual conversation ID's.

5. Export Conversations data to Amazon S3 for Reporting and Analytics, Single Customer Views, Data Quality and Governance: https://www.intercom.com/help/en/articles/7029721-export-conversations-data-to-amazon-s3

Hope this helps 🙏

Thanks for the prompt reply, @Jennifer K - for option 4 listed above using the Conversations API - would this be in rich text?

The ultimate goal is to export conversations without losing any context or having to go through the trouble of manually copying and pasting every image in a word document after the fact.

Thanks again,

Michael

@Michael Nortei This wouldn't be in rich text, as in, you can't copy the results and throw them into a word document and get images so I will add this to the context of your feature request for our product team.

Thanks @Jennifer K - that’d be appreciated. Ideally, we can export as PDF with images and links for ease.

Regards,

Michael
