When the Linear–Intercom integration sends a comment as an internal note, Intercom renders Markdown formatting in a broken way.
- Single words wrapped in backticks are displayed as code blocks.
- Lists and normal text are mixed with code formatting.
- The final internal note becomes difficult to read and visually chaotic.
This happens because the integration sends the comment as-is and Intercom renders the Markdown directly. There is currently no option in Intercom to clean or convert this formatting before display.
A better behavior would be for Intercom to either:
- automatically convert Markdown to readable formatting, or
- provide a setting to strip or normalize Markdown in internal notes.
I will not setup a custom Linear Integration just because Intercom handles this differently. In my eyes this is a small fix and I would love if you could implement this soon, as this would definitely make a big difference, even if its a “small” feature request.
