I keep seeing an option in Intercom to create a segment - what is a segment? How would I use one if I created it?

A segment is a group of users, or leads, who all match a collection of filters. For example, you might want to create a group of users who are based in Ireland and who have all signed up less than 7 days ago.

Instead of having to manually add the filters “Country is Ireland” and “Signed Up less than 7 days ago” to your user list every single time, you can create a segment using these filters (here’s how!)

Now, you can just open your new segment to check how many customers match these filters. Segments update automatically as soon as customers match, or stop matching, the filters you’ve defined.

You can also use segments to define your audience for auto messages.
