I often find myself writing part of an email, which I then don’t want to send anyway. When I then want to write another message, the old message, the receiver, and the subject is still there. Is there a way to “abandon” message creation that deletes the message I’ve written + subject + receiver?

Hi, Thomas Lannie-Sharp, It’s Mat from the Support Engineering Team 😀

It is a feature, not a bug 😅 But I can see how sometimes annoying that would be.

It allows you to come back to the previously started message.
You can simply delete the content of the email and start over.

Hi @mateusz.leszkiewicz
Thanks for your answer 😊 I totally get how this is useful. It would be great if there was then another way to create multiple drafts that actually had a receiver in order to go back and forth between new conversations 😄 Having to use Notes or a Google Docs to draft a longer email while also wanting to create other new messages isn’t exactly convenient 😅

Hi @mateusz.leszkiewicz! I have the same dilemma here 😊 Is there a way to save multiple email drafts?

Also, is there a way to send an email on behalf of a teammate, but only I from the team can use his/her email address?

@Jonah Amoranto

When composing a message in the Intercom inbox, your progress is saved as a draft, allowing you to return to it later. However, if you switch from writing a reply to writing an internal note and send that note, the draft of the reply will be deleted. This is expected behavior, and currently, there is no feature to save multiple drafts simultaneously for the same conversation .

Regarding saving drafts for new conversations, drafts should be saved when you navigate back to the conversation page. If this is not happening, it might be an issue that needs further investigation.

aaand to send an email on behalf of a teammate using their email address, you need to have the "Can send outbound emails from custom addresses" permission enabled. This permission allows you to use custom email addresses for outbound messages. You can set this up by going to Settings > Email > Domains & addresses and editing the email address you want to use. Ensure that the option "Let teammates use this address as the 'From' address for outbound emails" is enabled.

If you want only specific teammates to use a particular email address, you can manage this through the teammate/role permissions. By default, any teammate could send emails from a custom address, but you can restrict this by updating the permissions in the teammate/role permissions settings.
