Manage conversations, views, macros, and team workflows in Intercom's core support inbox

I just migrated to the new inbox, and it's pretty great so far, but I've not been able to find a way to edit user notes from it. The old inbox had this functionality. Now, I have to open the user's "contacts" profile in a separate tab, and then edit from there. Is this the only way to achieve this? Also, I was hoping with the new inbox there would be a way to delete user notes, but it doesn't seem that functionality has been added. Seems like a real oversight.
When teammates are out of office (planned or unexpectedly), how are you handling their conversations that become unsnoozed? We use the Reassign Replies option to handle customer that reply to conversations assigned to an OOO teammate, but we’re struggling to know what to do with conversations that become unsnoozed without having someone monitor the inbox to keep it tidy. We don’t want to use a workflow for when a customer has become unresponsive, because sometimes we’re waiting on an update from another team (like engineering). If you have solutions for this problem, too, I’m all ears. Should we do a back office ticket if we are waiting on the engineering team? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Hi there, We’re currently using DialPad, but we’re interested in moving over to Intercom. We like the UI difference, and the ease of usage throughout the app. However, I noticed when I text the number I call, it doesn’t send a text message to the “ticket”. Would I be able to get the calling number, work with the SMS texting number? Otherwise, it seems a bit impractical to communicate with clients, where they don’t know which is our actual company number. For example, should my website have the two numbers listed? That comes off a bit misleading. What’s a good work around?
How can I add tables to the chatbox? If I try to copy a table and paste it on the chat it was just plain text without a table. Can this be resolved?
When messages are sent via email, any signature footers (particularly complex HTML signatures) cause a lot of unnecessary bloat. Appreciate the reasons for not rendering the HTML, however ideally we'd like to strip out the footer but still be able to access it when viewing the "raw email". There are a couple of open source projects that aim to facilitate removing signatures:https://github.com/mailgun/talon/p>https://github.com/Smile-SA/signatureremover/p> Would this be a feature that Intercom is considering/would consider adding?
Hi everyone / Intercom Team,I’m reporting a persistent issue regarding our workspace login process. Since last Saturday, several of our customer support agents have been unable to log in because the verification codes (OTP) are never delivered to our email addres.Problem Details: Issue: Verification codes for 2FA/Login are not arriving. Affected Users: Multiple support executives/agents. Duration: Ongoing since Saturday Troubleshooting already done: Checked Spam/Junk folders (nothing there). Tried "Resend Code" multiple times with no success. This is significantly impacting our response times as a portion of our team is completely locked out of the platform. Is anyone else experiencing delays with Intercom’s emails? If there’s a known outage or a specific workaround we should try, please let us know as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for the help!

Just released Conversation Metrics — an app that brings per-conversation performance stats into your Intercom inbox sidebar:First agent response time Median agent response time Time to assignment Customer avg response time Longest wait (with snippet showing where the delay happened) Snooze analytics (who snoozed, how many times, total duration) Time to close Message count ReopensHere's what it looks like: It's free and available on Intercom AppStore: https://www.intercom.com/app-store/?app_package_code=conversation-metrics-vvnbHappy to hear feedback or feature requests.
Just released an app that exports Intercom conversations to styled PDFs — includes metadata, attachments, participant info, and side conversations. It's free: https://www.intercom.com/app-store/?app_package_code=export-conversations-wtc5&search=export%20Here it an example: Happy to hear feedback or feature requests.
We have one workspace but multiple brands. I’ve been trying to get an answer on this question but the person helping me just stopped replying. And we need to urgently resolve this issue. We want to use app script to forward emails because we have complex filtering requirements. The issue is that when we send it via app script, it goes to the default workspace instead of the brand that’s sending the email. Which also means we are replying back from the wrong email.I tried using the workflow automation to fix this but it will only allow me to set a specific inbox, and while we have brand specific inboxes it doesn’t resolve the actual issue. I don’t see a way to set the brand using workflow automation. An agent told me “If you need the per-brand forwarding address again: edit the brand address → change/disable receiving → choose “Set up forwarding” and the unique @intercom-mail.com for that brand will be shown again so you can copy it, then re‑verify.”However, this does not show up in the U
Hi, I want to grab the #ticket number in my macro so I can use it, but I can’t find it in the existing tokens available.
Hey everyone! We’re using Intercom for both live chat and longer ticket-style support.A challenge we’re facing is that conversations often remain open, but the agent who was handling the chat goes offline (end of shift). In theory someone else could jump in, but in practice each teammate already has a high ticket load, so constant handovers are not realistic. What’s the best practice workflow for this in Intercom?
Hello support, We are running into a recurring issue where intercom occasionally drops attachments. We are able to download the attachment only by going to the actual email that’s sent, but not through the intercom app itself. See attached screenshot. The file in this example was 1mb in size. We appreciate any help you can provide.
When we receive a new ticket by email it only shows the email and the status of this ticket, but not the title or description or any other attribute set, so it's hard to follow and reply to, unless you open the app. Is there any way we can set it up?We only receive this:Thanks in advance.
Hey! I discovered that the Side conversations option allows to send messages to Slack—neat! However, it is not straight forward to later on find the conversations that have side conversations. Any ideas of how this could be done? In short, this is the workflow that we are aiming at: When we need to ping someone from the team for a quick question, start side conversation and set message to selected Slack channel (this part is covered) Then find a way to easily keep track of this conversation (or any conversation that as a side conversation) within Intercom, like using Views or something similar. (This is not done!)I figured it could be done using Views filters (like when we filter conversations that have tickets, etc.), but I failed to get it working. Any thoughts, tips or tricks?
It would be great if one could mark a conversation with a specific emoji, to find it quicker when handling a specific theme. For example we sometimes have conversations wher it’s best to call the client. We don’t have time to call any time, but we set away time to do so. It would be nice to be able to mark the conversation that need to be called up - and then when you sit down to call, filter to see only those conversations.
ProblemAgents can currently close tickets even when they’re not assigned to a team. This makes it easy to close conversations prematurely or without proper ownership, which impacts reporting, accountability, and overall support quality. Proposed SolutionAdd an option to prevent agents from closing a ticket unless it is assigned to a team.Optionally, this could be configurable per workspace or role. Value / Benefit Ensures every ticket has clear ownership before being closed Improves data quality for reporting and analytics Reduces accidental or premature closures Encourages better workflow discipline across support teams Use CaseIn larger or distributed support teams, tickets often move between queues. Requiring team assignment before closure ensures the right team is accountable and that nothing slips through the cracks.
I can create a tracker ticket and link user raised conversations. Can add a note that I can then copy down to all linked conversations. How could I add a comment on the tracker (parent) that actually creates that same note as an email in all the linked conversations?
Would be great to be able to color code inbox by statuses, so you can quickly view an inbox and see the status of all items.
As can propose Zendesk, it would be more efficient and easier to organize the macros, if we were able to create a single macro, for different languages.
I want to be able to quickly snooze conversations as I respond, but 1 day is too short, and a week too long. I would like to be able to set up for my user profile so that I can choose my default snooze times available in the send and snooze menu.
To be able to still export the covnersation that has been merged with.Currently, there’s no button above once you merged the conversation.
Hi Guys,Please is there a workflow I can implement if there is a spike in interaction that I am notified?
a lot of inbound emails come in to my support mailboxes with multiply people on the email and I would like us to send out the CSAT email to all people in the conversation.
We often get phone calls (outside of intercom) from users who belong to a company but who are not currently a user in Intercom where it is not relevant to attach the issue to them, but instead we want to attach it to the company as a whole. Is there some way to do this beyond making a User version of every company for this purpose?
