Hi 👋🏼 We’re looking at updating some of our T&Cs and would like to use in-app messaging instead of an email to collect consent from our users. Has anyone done a similar project before and how did you execute it? 👀

We’d want to target the messages only to admin users, track their consent status (with a time stamp) and be able to export a list of users (who have / haven’t given consent, have / haven’t received the message etc.).

Thanks in advance for anyone who might be able to help here 🌸

@Susanna Tham  This sounds like a great idea and very doable, when creating the in-app message you can target a specific audience, include a link for the new terms and button to click for acknowledging the consent and from the results you can easily get the list of admins who've seen, clicked or not clicked or have  not  seen the message to tag and export them.

The time they clicked would be in the results but I'm not 100% sure if the time is in the export list but I'm sure but the date should be at least.

If your plan has surveys you could probably use a survey for this as well which has some additional features to gather answers and may be a good fit.

Feel free to reach out if you need any help setting things up.

Thanks for the input @Nathan Sudds, we haven’t used surveys yet but this is a very interesting suggestion! 🙏🏼

Think I need to conduct some testing and let’s see what solution we come up with 😉

An idea would be to use conversation or ticket attributes and an outbound bot flow.

We did this for a change in service provider where we needed to validate some data and confirm acceptance of terms which we did through the bot flow based on logging into our app, and then in turn converted it into a ticket (where if they did not engage) we could still send them the ticket to update at a later date.

Very interesting idea @Craig Titherington, thanks for sharing! We haven’t worked with tickets before, but bots we love 🙈 Could be a great opportunity to try tickets for the first time 👀 💭

@Susanna Tham Happy to help, whatever path you choose -- would love to hear how it goes!

@Nathan Sudds after some testing, we decided to build a Series with a Survey + Banner ✨

We haven’t worked with surveys before, so I think this is a great way for us to start utilising this part of Intercom further. Exciting project to be a part of 😁

Thanks for the help Intercom Community!
