Hello!

 

I am testing on an iPhone 8 simulator in Xcode running iOS 16 – trying to get ready for the new release. I notice that now on the customer side, the last character or word is cut off, either sending or receiving – on the customer service side it looks normal. Everything works as expected on iOS 15. See screenshots below. I didn't see any other tickets open about this and nothing came up with a google search. Any ideas as to how to fix this? Thanks very much!

This is actually a known issue on our end and our engineers are currently working to get this fixed in an upcoming version for our iOS SDK. You can follow our iOS SDK change log on this page but I'll also let you know here once a fix is released 👍

@oseas​ Thank you! One follow up question (I'm still relatively new at this) – the link you reference is for intercom-ios. I failed to mention I am using intercom-react-native(because we use React Native in our project). Does intercom-react-native use intercom-ios under the hood or will I have to change dependencies and maybe also use intercom-android?


I'm having the same issue. Using intercom-react-native(3.0.5). I was only able to reproduce it on device/simulator running iOS 16 beta.

We can see the message in full from the web interface, but words are missing the last letter and phrases are missing the last word.

Yes, it does @gabrielle d11​. The Intercom React Native wrapper allows you to use Intercom for iOS and/or Intercom for Android in your React Native apps. So any fixes deployed in new versions of our iOS and Android SDKs will also reflect in your React Native app as long as you keep it updated 👍
