I’m having trouble embedding the following code into my Messenger to have like a test.

<h1 style="text-align: center;">Intercom Chatbot Test</h1>

    <script>

        window.intercomSettings = {

          api_base: "https://api-iam.intercom.io",

          app_id: "dc7kpmmt",

        };

      </script>

      <script>

        // We pre-filled your app ID in the widget URL: 'https://widget.intercom.io/widget/dc7kpmmt'

        (function(){var w=window;var ic=w.Intercom;if(typeof ic==="function"){ic('reattach_activator');ic('update',w.intercomSettings);}else{var d=document;var i=function(){i.c(arguments);};i.q=a];i.c=function(args){i.q.push(args);};w.Intercom=i;var l=function(){var s=d.createElement('script');s.type='text/javascript';s.async=true;s.src='https://widget.intercom.io/widget/dc7kpmmt';var x=d.getElementsByTagName('script')a0];x.parentNode.insertBefore(s,x);};if(document.readyState==='complete'){l();}else if(w.attachEvent){w.attachEvent('onload',l);}else{w.addEventListener('load',l,false);}}})();

      </script>
The console on the browser says: Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID
Please help!

Hi @Chung Tran Van, It’s Mat from the Support Engineering Team 😀

We are not supporting the custom implementation of the Intercom installations.

May I ask what are you trying to build?

I had just started the 14-day trial yesterday. I wanted to install Messenger using Basic JavaScript. I tried to copy and paste the code into a simple HTML file before the </body> tag to test it out. When I tried to run it on my local it didn’t have the chat bubble in the corner, so I used the F12 key to check and found the following error:

Error when trying to use the code snippet.

Hey @Chung Tran Van 👋 Jacques here from support engineering!

Could I get you to preform the troubleshooting steps below?

1. Perform a hard refresh (Command + Shift + R on a Mac, or Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows)
2. Test in an incognito browser (Command + Shift + N on Mac, or Ctrl + Shift + N on Windows)
3. Test a different browser
4. Test an alternative Wi-Fi network or from a personal hotspot on a mobile phone
5. Clear cache and cookies in your browser

Additionally, can you check that you have enabled the setting below in your Messenger Settings

If the issue persists, it might be worth it for you to reach out to our support team so that they can do some deeper troubleshooting into this for you! :)

Hi, Jacques Reynolds
I followed your instructions but it didn’t help resolve the problem.
BUT I used the Android installation yesterday and it worked fine. It’s just the Web installation making my development team a hard time to work with. To be more specific, we cannot be connected to the widget for Messenger. When I tried to access the widget’s URL (https://widget.intercom.io/widget/dc7kpmmt), it said “This site can’t be reached”.

Unable to access the widget’s URL

I think that this may be the problem. I need you guys’ support ASAP. If this issue won’t be resolved by Monday morning, I guess I will have to create another account to have another appid to test it out.
