Why does my product tour make my entire site grey?

I set up a tour and when it’s live, the entire site is greyed out and the user can’t click anything, including the tour. The Next button will react when clicked, but doesn't actually go to the next page of the tour.

Something that may be relevant:

  • We recently updated to install the messenger securely. (Maybe that wasn’t done properly?)

Also, can you do a product tour and other messages if the Messenger button is not visible?

@TWilde  If it’s happening in preview and going live, then definitely seems to be an issue that could point to a conflict with the libraries -- not sure if the secure messenger would cause this but maybe if the messenger was installed incorrectly it could lead to issues like this, not sure though. 


You could try opening Chrome Developer Tools if you are familiar with them and see if there’s any errors there and see if that helps point to the issue. 

I’d recommend having someone on your dev team take a look or reach out to Intercom support via chat where they can access your system to confirm, maybe they can point you in the right direction.

@TWilde  I’m wondering if there’s a conflict with one of the libraries you are using on the website itself and the Intercom Product Tour but not sure without seeing the site itself in action -- do you have the same issue when you try to preview the tour when creating it or only when it goes live?
