Our company is situated in Germany and has to comply with german data protection law. We are looking for a way to give the client a) notice about data collection through intercom and b) the possibility to opt in/out to that.

How do you deal with that topic? Which solutions maybe come out of the box from intercom?

Thanks for any thoughts on that!

Q - We are looking for a way to give the client a) notice about data collection through intercom and b) the possibility to opt in/out to that.

A - I will be honest, it is a bad idea to use Intercom for that.

Accordingly to GDPR: If the visitor decline request you shouldn't track them.

There so many solutions for GDPR:

Of course, you can also use custom bot but if visitor declines request you shouldn't track them.

BTW: You mentioned clients not visitors, for registered users enough to accept the Terms of Service/Privacy Policy. 🇩🇪
